[This is an intentional pick of voice instead of video. Miles is feeling a bit shaky and gray with how long it's been since his last seizure, but he's been stubbornly putting it off. Well, no longer. He won't be a liability of any kind for what's coming up. Too much is riding on proving his worth. It's possible that showing this weakness will undermine her confidence in him, but Miles needs to have someone in the field with him know it's a possibility during high stress, and of the three potential others in his upcoming plan, she's the one he knows the best.
That doesn't mean he needs to advertise it before he gets her to agree to said plan.
His voice is brisk and flippant at the same time, his usual command tone.] You willing to assemble the troops, Annie girl? You, Braun, and Hoover? There's a bottle with potential combat situation written all over it.
[ The line opens, but there's a long moment where absolutely nothing is said. When she finally says something, it isn't in that flat, measured tone that seems to be characteristic of her speech. Still crisp, still fairly level, but a curious mixture of clipped precision and almost sounding her actual age.
She's eager. ]
Maybe. I can tell them where I'm going if you want. [ Which would be, she presumes, where ever Miles might be headed. ] Whether they're interested is up to them.
[ She would only speak for herself alone, though she knows Reiner and Bertolt are not about to let her engage in such an endeavor with their mark by herself. But it's strange, she thinks, that he didn't try to approach Reiner instead on some matter involving the group of them. Extroverted and seemingly open, his charisma usually had people rightly pegging him as a proper leader of whatever group he was attached to and for good reason. ]
[Attuned as he is to her answer, he picks up on her eagerness and feels a brief, lingering sense of smugness that he'd pegged her right the first time. Their 'deal' is what she wants in exchange.]
Do that, [he orders with an unconscious, preoccupied air. If that's not enough to get the other two to come, then he'll deal with it, but Miles thinks that it is. They're all so concerned with a soldier's duty; they'd never let a comrade go by themselves, much less miss a chance for action.] We'll rendezvous tomorrow, 0900 hours, outside the Palace gates.
[He takes a long, silent breath. His tone drops to be quieter, ruminative.]
[ Annie makes a brief sound of assent. She couldn't possibly imagine what is line of thought might be to lead to this method of approach. It probably didn't matter when it'd end with three highly skilled soldiers outside the Palace gates in the morning no matter what the reason. ]
